Volunteer activities
THGD will carry out volunteer social contribution activities here in the Philippines in response to SDGs for a sustainable and prosperous society.

On our first visit, we only donated food and supplies which resulted in all the participants to be feeling something was missing, so we visited the charitable institution “Bridge Builder Foundation” and conducted volunteer activities for the second time.
In addition to the donation of pens and notebooks, we held a workshop to introduce Japanese culture and teach Japanese.
Donation Particulars
- 100 packages of food such as rice, canned food, etc.
- 40 sets of stationery such as notebooks, pencils, ballpoint pens, etc.
Activities
- Introduction of Japanese culture through video showing
Introduce good values of our culture, such as the principles of standing in line at train stations, bowing heads to show respect and appreciation, cleaning up after school classes, and community clean-up activities. - Japanese Language Workshop
Taught the joy of learning by reading and writing one’s name in hiragana, and teaching simple greetings and salutations in Japanese.
The children voluntarily engaged in learning the Japanese culture as we convey to them the importance of having an interest in some things, as well as learning about them. With this, we felt fulfilled in achieving our primary goal of giving something beyond mere donations and learned that these sorts of events are what we as a Japanese entity are worth engaging for.
We noticed then that the children were eagerly trying to learn to read and write as they felt what we are trying to impart in those small ways. The person in charge of the foundation was also very much overwhelmed and requested that we carry on with our activities. Moreover, such an activity was a very good involvement for the THGD staff, including myself, and I know that such will create many positive effects on us all.

The first volunteer activity was carried out .In addition to donating washing machines, rice, canned goods, etc. to BRIDGE BUILDERS FOUNDATION,
We distributed 150 sets of food to the disadvantaged children in the area.
We will continue this activity and contribute to society as a company.
